Hindus celebrate beginning and end of every changing season marked by the cycle of nature. There are thousand of festivals that Hindus celebrate. These festivals may be linked to some old traditions or in honor of various deities.

Following is the list of Hindu holidays :
  • Holi : a festival of color and spring that originated from the tradition of burning of demonesses like Holika, Holaka and Putana who troubled little children.

  • Dassera : victory of Rama over demon king Ravana.

  • Navaratri : Festival of worship and dance. During this festival nine forms of goddess Durga are worshipped.

  • Diwali : festival of lights that celebrates the return of Lord Rama with his wife Sita and brother Laxmana after killing demon Ravana.
