The government of United States have not categorized any special holidays under federal holidays as these holidays depends on the declaration by the legislation of individual states. These holidays are meant for federal employees and are not as per the guidelines of the national government.

The following list of federal holidays is proclaimed by the federal government :

  • Martin Luther King : Third Monday in January
  • Presidents' Day : Third Monday of February
  • Memorial Day : Fourth Monday of May.
  • Independence Day : July 4th.
  • Labor Day : First Monday of September
  • Columbus Day : Second Monday in October
  • Veterans Day : November 11th
  • Thanksgiving Day : Fourth Thursday in November.
  • Christmas Day : December 25
